Three decal sheets in a large scale for the S.2, S.2A and S.2B versions of the Blackburn Buccaneer. Seven machines, among them trials aircraft of British research establishments of the 1970s.
Responsibility details are not available.
Most decal sets for this type show the machines of operational units. This one takes a different route and concentrates on aircraft that flew with trials and research establishments. Such aircraft tend to wear unusual combinations of colors: prominent orange or white areas for good visibility during measurement, numbers painted over standard camouflage and sometimes the marks of the maker beside military national insignia.
Two schemes on one and the same airframe is typical of trials work: the finish changed during a program according to what was being measured at the time. The builder can therefore choose which phase of the aircraft's life to capture on the model.
The package contains three sheets intended for large kits. The decals are printed on a backing paper from which they release in lukewarm water. The surface beneath them should be glossy and smooth, otherwise air will be trapped under the film and the edges will whiten. The model of the aircraft itself and its parts are not in the package.
