A premium injection-molded plastic kit of the American single-engine propeller-driven Douglas A-1J Skyraider attack aircraft (US Air Force) from the Japanese manufacturer Zoukei-Mura, the SWS line, in the large 1:32 scale. Zoukei-Mura is renowned for elaborate internal detail - the kit makes it possible to assemble the engine and the internal structure, and the folding wing, the turning propeller and the airbrakes are movable. It is a demanding kit for advanced modelers.
The Douglas A-1 Skyraider was an American single-engine propeller-driven attack aircraft that, despite the arrival of jets, excelled in the enormous load of external stores it could carry and in its long loiter time over the battlefield. The A-1J version was deployed during the Vietnam War; compared with the A-1H it brought no fundamental changes to the airframe and added, among other things, taxi lights and a rescue system for the pilot. The Skyraider became famous for supporting ground units and rescue operations.
Given the Zoukei-Mura approach it pays to assemble and paint the engine and the internal structure before you close them under the covers - internal detail is precisely the strength of this kit. In the large 1:32 scale, finish the cockpit before closing the fuselage and mask the glazing. Decide whether to leave the wing spread or folded. Use liquid cement on the plastic, treat the surface with a primer and spray the shades with an airbrush.
