HGW 1:32 F4U-1A VF-17 Jolly Rogers, part 2 is a set of wet transfers with the markings of the American carrier fighter Corsair. It follows on from the first part of the series.

The second part of a set of wet transfers with the markings of the American carrier fighter Vought F4U-1A Corsair as used by the Navy fighter squadron VF-17, in 1:32 scale. The set is an accessory to a finished model, not a kit. Dividing the subject into several parts makes it possible to treat more machines of one unit in greater detail than would fit on a single sheet.
The F4U-1A was a development version of the Corsair in which the main service shortcoming of the type was addressed: poor visibility from the cockpit on landing because of the long nose. Changes to the canopy and a raised seat improved the situation. Squadron VF-17 was among the units that deployed Corsairs in the Pacific theater; its machines carried striking markings, thanks to which they became one of the most frequently modeled subjects connected with this aircraft. In the large 1:32 scale even small markings that would merge with the surface in a smaller scale come through.
Approach the markings in order from large areas to small details and let every transferred motif dry thoroughly before you set about the neighboring one. Try the position dry in advance against the panel lines: on large insignia a shift of a tenth of a millimeter shows. The base must be glossy and smooth; a matte surface or unsealed weathering under a motif will spoil the result. After transferring and drying, remove the carrier layer according to the instructions, carefully and without pulling sideways. Seal the finished markings with a clear coat so that the edges are not damaged during further painting and weathering. If you are building several machines of the same unit, plan in advance which motifs you will use on which model, so that the individual parts of the series follow on from each other.
