A seven-part accessory set for a model of the German Fokker D.VII fighter in 1:32 scale, with photo-etched parts, a radiator, weapons and a mask.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Fokker D.VII entered service in the spring of 1918 and quickly earned a reputation as a machine that would make a decent fighter pilot out of an average one. Its welded steel tube fuselage covered with fabric and the thick cantilever wing section let it hang on the propeller and shoot upward in a situation where another aircraft would long since have stalled. Remarkably, it was the only type named explicitly in the text of the armistice conditions, which expressly ordered its surrender.
The presence of the engine parts is worth noting: the version with the more powerful BMW engine differed from the basic one in external detail too, so the choice of engine decides the shape of the whole forward part of the model.
The parts are sized to the kit from Wingnut Wings. The fabric covering of the fuselage and the wings was in practice covered with the familiar lozenge print, for which a decal suits better than spraying. The set holds accessories; the model of the aircraft itself is bought separately.
