HGW 1:32 Fokker E.IV – the Oberursel U.III engine is a brass photo-etched set for a detailed rendering of the two-row rotary engine of a model of the German monoplane Fokker E.IV. It is not an airplane model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A brass photo-etched set in 1:32 scale from the Czech maker HGW aimed at drawing out the two-row Oberursel U.III rotary engine of a model of the German fighter monoplane Fokker E.IV. It holds fine photo-etched parts of the engine and of its installation, which replace or complete the coarser plastic elements of the kit. The set is NOT an airplane model on its own.
The Fokker E.IV was the last and the most powerful version of the series of Eindecker monoplanes. Its power was provided by the powerful two-row Oberursel U.III rotary engine of around 160 horsepower, which gave the machine markedly higher performance than the earlier versions powered by the single-row Oberursel U.0. The E.IV usually carried heavier armament.
Separate the fine parts with a sharp knife and shape them with a bender. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. It is best to assemble and paint the two-row engine before it is built in; a darker wash into the recesses will bring out the metallic look and the shades of the cylinders.
This is an accessory, not an aircraft kit. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
