A set of turned metal barrels of the MG 81 and MG 81Z machine guns with photo-etched sights in 1:32 scale from MASTER. A faithful replacement for the plastic parts of defensive armament.
Responsibility details are not available.
The package holds turned metal barrels of the German MG 81 defensive machine guns and of their twin version MG 81Z, supplemented with photo-etched sights. The metal and photo-etched parts replace the simplified plastic from the box and give defensive gun positions a faithful, fine look in 1:32 scale. The manufacturer is the Polish brand MASTER.
The MG 81 was a fast-firing defensive machine gun of 7.92 mm caliber that in the Second World War replaced the older MG 15 on German bombers and reconnaissance aircraft. In the twin MG 81Z (Zwilling) version it markedly raised the density of fire. You will meet it on types such as the Junkers Ju 88, the Heinkel He 111 or the Dornier Do 217.
Cut off the plastic barrels and clean up the seating surfaces. Bond the metal barrels with super glue (cyanoacrylate); bend the photo-etched sights to match the real thing and attach them with super glue as well. After degreasing, apply a primer for metal.
This is an add-on detail set, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
