HGW 1:32 Gotha G.IV - Parabellum machine guns is a brass photo-etched set for a faithful rendering of the defensive Parabellum machine guns of the Gotha G.IV bomber. It is not a kit but a detail accessory for the armament.
Responsibility details are not available.
A brass photo-etched set from HGW in 1:32 scale aimed at the defensive armament of a model of the German bomber Gotha G.IV, specifically at the Parabellum machine guns. Fine photo-etched parts bring out the barrel cooling jacket, the sights, the grips and the fittings of the weapons, which were among the characteristic elements of the gunner's positions. It is an accessory to a plastic model.
The Gotha G.IV defended itself during raids with movable Parabellum machine guns of 7.92 mm caliber at the upper as well as the lower gunner's position. These firing positions were clearly visible on a large bomber, so a faithful rendering of the weapons raises the realism of a model noticeably.
The photo-etched parts are separated from the fret with a sharp knife on a cutting mat, shaped with a bender or a ruler and glued with cyanoacrylate glue. The cylindrical barrel cooling jackets are rolled around a suitable mandrel for a regular shape. Before painting it is worth degreasing the metal and going over it with a base coat for better adhesion.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. The aircraft kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
