Replacement engine exhaust nozzles in the open position for a model of the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F/A-18E/F Super Hornet is an American carrier-borne multirole aircraft, in the single-seat E version and the two-seat F. The engine exhaust nozzles change their cross section according to the regime, so on the ground they look different from in flight; on a parked machine with the engines stopped they tend to be open. On a model these are parts you can see into, and both their thickness and their internal shape give a lot away.
Replacement nozzles worked in the open position, for a model in 1:48 scale. The kit parts tend to have a thick wall and a simplified interior in this place, because otherwise they could not be made. The replacement part has a thin wall and detailed internal surfaces, so the view into the nozzle looks convincing even from close up. The open position suits a model captured on the apron or on a deck, with the engines stopped.
The parts are not polystyrene and cement for plastic models will not hold on them; use cyanoacrylate glue. Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest, so that the edge stays straight and thin. Wash and degrease the elements before painting. Paint the inside of the nozzle before you fit it to the model, as it is hard to reach once glued. On nozzles it works well to grade the metallic shades: lighter inside, darker and more weathered toward the edge, and to bring out the edges with a dry brush.
The set is for modelers who build the Super Hornet in 1:48 scale and want to replace the kit nozzles with thin-walled parts.
The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
