The maker also runs sets aimed at one position only. The accessory replaces simplified plastic parts; on its own it does not make a model. Check the exact number of parts on the packaging.
The F-14D closes the development line of the carrier fighter with a variable-geometry wing. Against the early machines it was given General Electric F110-GE-400 engines and upgraded equipment. Its exhaust nozzles differ in shape from the earlier versions and their diameter changes with the engine setting, so the same aircraft looks different from behind while taxiing and after shutdown. That is exactly why a set with both positions also suits dioramas with several machines standing side by side.
Wash the castings in water with detergent, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and true the surfaces. They are glued with cyanoacrylate, which should be left to set without an accelerator, otherwise the metal may be fogged. Paint the internal surfaces before joining them to the fuselage. Build the metallic shades on a smooth gloss base, do the heat gradations with an airbrush in thin layers and apply the soot sparingly. If you combine the positions, check against documentation that the combination really makes sense on the aircraft.
