A set of fabric seat belts for a model of the night fighter Heinkel He 219 Uhu in 1:32 scale. It replaces the belts from the kit and gives the cabin a soft, naturally draping line.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Heinkel He 219 Uhu was a German twin-engined night fighter of the end of the Second World War. It was powered by a pair of piston engines, it had a crew of two and, unusually for its time, landing gear with a nosewheel. It also ranked among the first production-built aircraft with ejection seats, so the cabin is interesting in shape and there is a clear view into it on a model in 1:32 scale. That is exactly why even something as small as the seat straps draws attention.
The set consists of fabric seat belts and is intended for 1:32 scale. Unlike a plastic part, a fabric strap can be bent, waved and left to blend freely over the edge of the seat, so the belts in the cabin do not read as a stiff immovable whole. The exact extent of the set and the placing of the individual parts are given by the manufacturer in the instructions enclosed.
Fit the belts before you close the fuselage up and put the canopy on; later you will not reach the seats. Bend the strap dry over the edge of the seat first so that it remembers the shape, and only then fix it at a few points. Dose the glue sparingly and apply it with the tip of a toothpick, because the fabric soaks up any excess and hardens. Paint the cabin before you fit the belts; on a finished base the straps settle more easily and nothing is sprayed over them any more.
This is a supplementary set for building a model. Paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
