Montex 1:32 Hurricane Mk.I tropical is a set of self-adhesive painting masks for modelers, not a kit. The masks are cut to fit the glazing of the Fly kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An add-on set in 1:32 scale meant for modelers who already have the matching kit and are tackling the spraying of the canopy frames. The package holds no plastic and no photo-etched parts, only self-adhesive masks ready to be laid down straight away. The cut matches the glazing of the Fly kit, so do not combine the set with a model from another manufacturer.
The Hawker Hurricane Mk.I was a British fighter with a mixed fuselage structure, that is a lattice frame covered with fabric at the rear. It was powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine and armed with 7.7 mm machine guns in the wings. The tropical fit was recognizable by the bulky air intake filter under the forward fuselage; it protected the carburetor from dust and sand during operations in North Africa and in the Mediterranean. The filter changes the silhouette of the aircraft noticeably and shows in the shape of the kit parts as well.
Clean the grease of your fingers off the glazing first, otherwise the mask will not adhere across its whole area. Lift the masks off the sheet with fine-pointed tweezers and lay them down from the longest frame toward the smallest pieces. On sharply curved surfaces never stretch a mask by force, otherwise it will return to its original shape after spraying and lift the edge. The frames are sprayed in two stages, first in the interior shade from inside, then in the outer camouflage. On the tropical version it pays to mask the filter intake as well, so that no paint gets inside.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
