The J2M Raiden pitot tube in 1:32 scale is a resin replacement part from Quickboost for a model of this Japanese interceptor.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin accessory from the Quickboost brand brings a precisely cast pitot tube (the airspeed sensor) for a model of the Japanese Mitsubishi J2M Raiden interceptor in 1:32 scale. It is not a kit but a small replacement part that replaces the thicker and easily damaged plastic tube from the box with a more slender and faithful casting.
The J2M Raiden (Allied code name Jack) was a land-based interceptor of the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service, designed by Jiro Horikoshi as a fast-climbing bomber destroyer. The pitot tube is a small but conspicuous detail protruding from the wing leading edge or the nose; a thin, straight casting looks more realistic than the thicker part from the box and stands up better to a close look.
First wash the resin part in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap to deal with mold release residue. Separate the tube carefully from the casting block with a sharp knife and clean it up with respiratory protection. Bond it with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and work with tweezers; fit it at the end of the build so that it does not snap off while the model is being handled.
The accessory is supplied as a resin replacement part, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
