A set of a seat harness for a model of the Junkers J.1 aircraft in 1:32 scale from the brand HGW. It is not a kit, but an accessory for the cockpit. The belts are laser-cut from printed microfabric and rounded out with photo-etched metal buckles, which give the joints a metallic sheen. In a large scale the seat with its harness is among the first things a viewer notices in an open cockpit.
The fabric has a thickness and a texture of its own, so once hung it bends by itself and folds over the edge of the seat. The modeler thereby gets a soft, natural shape of the kind that is only achieved with difficulty in photo-etched metal. The belts stay functional — it is up to you whether you leave them fastened or thrown loose. The material is treated against damp and will take ordinary modeling products; the shade can be darkened with a filter.
For builders in large scales who want the interior finished down to the last detail and are not satisfied with a flat photo-etched belt. The difference the set makes shows at once; it does call for calm, good light and a delicate hand when working with the buckles.
The set holds the seat harness only. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
