Eduard 1:32 Kittyhawk Mk. I/Mk. III exterior is a photo-etched set for refining the outer details of a model of the Curtiss Kittyhawk fighter. It is not an airplane model but an accessory for a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched set from the Czech maker Eduard meant for detailing the outer surface of a model of the Curtiss Kittyhawk fighter in 1:32 scale. The set holds thin metal parts replacing and supplementing the features that injection-molded plastic cannot capture finely enough. Note: this is not a stand-alone airplane model but an accessory for a plastic kit.
The photo-etched parts refine the exterior of a model, for example fine sheet metal covers, grilles, hatches, linkages and other small features on the outer surface of the airframe. The result is a truer and more three-dimensional surface, which stands out on a finished model above all after painting and weathering.
Kittyhawk is the British and Allied designation of the later versions of the American Curtiss P-40 fighter. It was a single-engine all-metal fighter and fighter-bomber of the Second World War period, famed for its service in North Africa and in the Pacific. A characteristic feature of many machines was a painted shark mouth on the nose.
Separate the parts carefully from the fret with a sharp blade, form the bends with a bending tool or a ruler and glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or a special glue for etching. Degrease the surface before gluing. The metal parts are easy to spray with paint once a base coat of primer has been applied.
This is an add-on photo-etched set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
