A printed sheet with the grain of light wood in a yellow tone for models in 1:32 scale. It is applied as a wet decal; the manufacturer's part number is HGW532005.
Responsibility details are not available.
Wood is hard to paint on a model. The pattern of the growth rings has to be fine and regular and at the same time nowhere the same, and with a brush that takes a great deal of effort. A printed sheet gets around that work: you transfer a finished pattern to the surface and the result is continuous over the whole area. It comes into its own on plywood fuselage skins, on propellers, on cockpit floors and side panels and on the wooden parts of the equipment.
This is a sheet with a continuous wood pattern in a light version with a yellow tone, that is, in a shade matching fresh wood under a coat of varnish. It is intended for the large 1:32 scale, where the structure of the surface is clearly visible. The sheet does not carry shapes for one particular aircraft type; you cut the parts out of it as you need them, if necessary following a template traced from a part of the kit. The size of the sheet and the layout of the printing are given by the manufacturer, and they can be checked against the part number HGW532005.
Prepare the base smooth and glossy; on matte paint the decal will break and the edges will stay visible. Soak the cut-out piece in lukewarm water, and once it has released, slide it off the paper onto the model and true up its position with a brush. Blot the excess water away with a soft cloth. On curved surfaces a softener helps; once it has been applied, do not touch the decal until it has dried. A final coat of varnish will unify the finished work and at the same time hide the edges.
The sheet alone is supplied. The kit, paints and varnish are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
