Techmod 1:32 Lozenge (4 colours) is a sheet of decals with the four-color lozenge pattern, that is the printed camouflage fabric of German aircraft of the First World War, in 1:32.
Responsibility details are not available.
This sheet of waterslide decals from the Polish manufacturer Techmod reproduces the four-color variant of the lozenge pattern, the regular diamonds and polygons that during the First World War were printed straight onto the covering fabric of German aircraft. It is not a kit or a model: you stick the decals onto the finished surfaces of a built model in 1:32 and save yourself painting the pattern by hand, which at this scale is practically impossible.
The pattern was not printed onto the aircraft but onto the balloon fabric with which the machine was covered. It was a quicker and cheaper solution than sprayed camouflage and the result was uniform on every machine. Several color sets existed; the four-color and the five-color version differed in palette and in which surfaces of the aircraft they were usually used on. For a modeler a decal reproduction is the only realistic way to a faithful result.
First paint the surface with a gloss coat and let it dry completely. Trace the shape of the part onto paper, cut the sheet to that template with a slight margin and apply it piece by piece. Put plenty of water under the film so that it can still be moved; run the seams along the ribs, as they would be on real fabric. Over engraved lines and projections use a decal softener, and pierce any bubbles with a pin. Finally even the model out with a matte coat.
This is a separate accessory. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
