Mercedes D.IIIa - Engine 1:32 (HGW, photo-etched set)

A photo-etched detail set in 1:32 scale from the Czech maker HGW, intended for a model of the German Mercedes D.IIIa aero engine. It was an inline six-cylinder liquid-cooled engine from Daimler that powered a whole range of German First World War aircraft. The set adds fine metal parts and lifts the otherwise simplified plastic casting of the engine, which on models of period machines is usually well in view.

Use

• Separate the parts carefully from the fret and make the bends on the etched score lines.
• Shape the small elements with tweezers and assemble them with the help of a magnifier.
• Glue the metal parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate).
• Degrease the parts before painting and use a primer.
