A PeilG IV conversion set for the Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-4 in 1:32 scale — a conversion to an aircraft fitted with a radio direction finder, from the Czech manufacturer AML.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin conversion set from the Czech manufacturer AML for a model of the Bf 109 E-4 in 1:32 scale. It lets you build an aircraft fitted with the PeilG IV radio direction finder, a less usual variant that reliably sets the model apart from the standard Emils. This is not a stand-alone aircraft model.
The PeilG IV was a German airborne radio direction finder. Its most visible external feature is the loop antenna on the fuselage spine; the equipment made navigation by ground transmitters easier, especially on flights in poor visibility. On the Bf 109 E fighter it is a rarely seen fitting that gives the model a story of its own, factually and without exaggeration.
The conversion means cutting into the kit: mark the position of the antenna according to the instructions, and drill the holes starting from a smaller diameter and widening them gradually. Wash the resin parts in soapy water, cut them from the casting blocks, sand them with your airways protected and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. A trial dry fit before gluing always helps, and with conversions doubly so.
This is a conversion accessory; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
