A turned metal replacement pitot tube in 1:32 scale from MASTER, intended for a model of the Soviet MiG-21 F-13 jet fighter (Fishbed C in the NATO reporting name), one of the early production versions. This is not a kit or a model of an aircraft but an accurate replacement part taking the place of the soft and easily damaged plastic item from the original kit. The turned metal tube is finer, perfectly straight and far more resistant to bending and breaking.
A pitot tube senses the air pressure on an aircraft for measuring speed, and on the nose of the MiG-21 it is a conspicuous element projecting far forward. On models it is a thin protruding part that in plastic often snaps or warps. The metal replacement from MASTER gives the model a fine detail true to scale and is markedly stronger.
Cut the original plastic part off and widen the hole with a fine drill. Glue the metal tube in with cyanoacrylate or a small drop of two-part epoxy. Degrease the part before painting and go over it with a primer for metal so that the paint holds.
This is a replacement detail part, not a model kit. Paints, glue and the aircraft model are not included in the package.
