Fujimi 1:700 Warship Next IJN Haruna 1944 — a model of the Japanese fast battleship in her state from Operation Sho-1 in 1944. Parts molded in color, a build without glue and painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
A kit of the Japanese fast battleship Haruna from the manufacturer Fujimi in the modern Warship Next line. The parts are molded in matching colors and snap together — the model can be built without glue and without painting. The state shown is that of 1944, when Haruna took part in the Battle of Leyte as part of Operation Sho-1 with her anti-aircraft armament fully expanded.
Haruna belonged to the four ships of the Kongo class, built during the First World War as battlecruisers and later modernized twice into fast battleships. Thanks to a speed of around 30 knots these ships escorted carrier groups and strike groups throughout the war in the Pacific. In October 1944 Haruna joined Operation Sho-1 — the defense of the Philippines — and survived the Battle of Leyte. She was not lost until July 1945, during the air raids on the base at Kure, where she settled on the bottom after hits.
The build needs no glue — just take care to separate the parts cleanly from the frames. Anyone who wants to take the model further can add a fine dark wash in the deck detail, toning of the smoke stains around the funnel and photo-etched railings in 1:700 scale.
The kit is supplied unassembled. The parts are molded in color and snap together without glue; paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
