A masking set for a model of the American Curtiss P-40N fighter in 1:32 scale, intended for the kit from Hasegawa.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Curtiss P-40N was a late variant of the American single-seat fighter, which served out the war in North Africa, in the Pacific and over Burma. The structure of the N was lightened and the fuselage spine behind the cockpit was cut down, so the pilot had a considerably better view to the rear than in the earlier aircraft of the family.
A masking set for the P-40N in 1:32 scale, intended for the kit from Hasegawa. Which areas the set masks, how many parts it holds and where they go is given in the manufacturer's instructions; plan the masks out according to them before you start and leave the unused ones on the backing.
Apply the masks to a finished, washed and degreased surface before spraying. Press every edge down all the way round, because a seeping edge is the most common reason masking has to be sprayed again. Lay the paint on in thin coats and let it flash off briefly between them. Remove the mask while the paint is only dry to the touch and pull it back at an angle over itself; a straight pull can take the finish underneath with it.
The set is for modelers who want crisp paint boundaries without cutting tape, and it suits repeating shapes, where masking by hand would take the most time. Apart from tweezers and a sharp point you need no special tools for it. The kit, paints, glue and thinner are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
