This is a cockpit detail set, not a model of the airplane. It combines faithful fabric seat belts of real microtextile (microfiber) with photo-etched fittings and a decal with a wood texture that reproduces the wooden cockpit floor of the Mustang. It is intended for large-scale models of the American P-51D Mustang fighter in 1:32 scale.
In the glazed canopy of the Mustang in a large scale the interior is clearly visible and flat plastic or a bare floor is unconvincing. The HGW fabric belts have the real structure of a woven material and drape naturally over the seat, and the photo-etched buckles add fine detail. The decal with its wood grain moreover reproduces the characteristic plywood cockpit floor faithfully. The fabric resists the ordinary, non-aggressive preparations used in modeling.
Cut the belts out along the marked line with a sharp knife, work them between your fingers and thread them through the photo-etched buckles; glue with PVA glue (white glue), not with anything aggressive. Apply the floor decal over a smooth gloss base and settle it with decal softener, so that it beds down without wrinkles.
This is not a complete model. The set does not contain glue, paints or a kit; it serves as an accessory to a base model.
