The R.550 Magic is a French short-range air-to-air guided missile with infrared guidance, that is, a weapon for combat within visual range that finds its target by its heat emission. The Magic 2 configuration is the newer one and, against the first, received a more capable seeker head. On a model it is a slim body with forward control surfaces and four tail surfaces, which are prominent enough even in 1:32 scale to be worth working on carefully.
Four pieces of the missile for models in 1:32 scale, as the name states. Whether the package also holds pylons or launch rails is stated by the manufacturer. The set suits places where you want to replace the coarser weapons from the kit, or where you need to extend the load to the full number.
The parts are not polystyrene, so cement for polystyrene will not hold on them; use cyanoacrylate glue and wash and degrease the faces beforehand. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down with a fine abrasive, so that you do not touch the shape of the tail surfaces. Lay down a thin base coat before painting. Training and live rounds differ in reality in their color markings, so go through your references before you reach for the paint. Fit the missiles onto the model at the very end, otherwise they will be in the way during the rest of the work.
