R.A.F. 3-inch 25 lb rockets 1:32 from Aerobonus (Aires) — a resin set of British unguided aerial rockets with a three-inch motor and a 25 lb warhead to be carried under a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin set of British aerial armament in 1:32 scale from the Czech manufacturer Aerobonus (Aires). It is not an aircraft model but a set of unguided rockets with a three-inch rocket motor and a 25 lb armor-piercing warhead to be carried under a model. The set serves to complement larger models of British combat aircraft of the Second World War.
The British unguided aerial rocket with a motor three inches in diameter was among the most widespread armament of the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. The version with the solid 25 lb armor-piercing head was used above all against ships, submarines and armored targets. The rockets were carried by a number of British machines, among them fighter-bombers and patrol aircraft.
It is a resin set for more experienced modelers. First wash the mold release residue off the parts, carefully cut off the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Once painted, the details come out best after an accent with a wash and a light patina. The rockets usually carried a simple finish with markings added; watch the correct placement on the launching rails according to the particular type of aircraft.
This is not an aircraft model but a resin set of armament. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the pylons and the base model are not included.
