Two turned barrels of a Japanese aircraft machine gun in 1:32 scale from Aber, 7.7 mm caliber. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of two turned metal barrels in 1:32 scale for the Japanese 7.7 millimeter Type 97 aircraft machine gun. It is not a kit but a replacement for the plastic parts on an aircraft model. The protruding barrels are small and slender, so in plastic they come out too thick and break when the model is handled. Metal holds its shape and the muzzle stays open.
Japanese aircraft of the first half of the war carried 7.7 millimeter machine guns, usually in the fuselage above the engine, where they fired through the propeller disc. Against armored targets they were already weak, but they had a high rate of fire and good reliability, and Japanese designs long put low weight ahead of firepower. The protruding ends of the barrels are among the characteristic details of these machines.
Degrease the metal barrels with alcohol and apply a primer, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. Cut off the plastic parts and drill the hole exactly to the diameter of the pin, so that the barrel does not wobble. Meter out the glue with the tip of a wire, not straight from the bottle, because on small parts any excess overflows at once. Fit the barrels last of all, after the decals have been applied and the top coat sprayed, otherwise you will bend them during handling.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
