Four turned metal barrels of a Japanese aircraft cannon in 1:32 scale from Aber, 20 mm caliber. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of four turned metal barrels in 1:32 scale for the Japanese 20 millimeter Type 99 aircraft cannon. It is not a kit but a replacement for the plastic parts on an aircraft model. Four pieces cover a machine with two cannons and leave spares, and because the barrels are turned they have an open muzzle and a straight profile that plastic cannot reach.
The 20 millimeter Type 99 cannon was the main weapon of Japanese naval fighter aircraft. Among others it was carried by the best-known Japanese fighter, usually as a pair in the wings, while machine guns of a smaller caliber stayed in the fuselage. Against the sturdier structures of Allied aircraft the 20 millimeter round was considerably more effective than a machine gun, and its lower weight compared with similar weapons from other countries was an advantage as well.
Degrease the metal barrels with alcohol and apply a primer, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. Cut off the plastic parts and drill the hole exactly to the diameter of the pin, so that the barrel does not wobble. Meter out the glue with the tip of a wire, not straight from the bottle, because on small parts any excess overflows at once. Fit the barrels last of all, after the decals have been applied and the top coat sprayed, otherwise you will bend them during handling.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
