Montex 1:32 Spitfire Mk.Vc is a masking set for modelers, not a model and not a kit. The masks are cut to the shape of the glazing of the Hasegawa kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of self-adhesive masks in 1:32 scale. This is not a kit and not a finished model but an accessory you use on a model built from the Hasegawa kit. The masks are cut to that kit's glazing, so measuring, marking out and cutting strips of tape fall away.
The Spitfire Mk.V was the most numerous version of the British fighter in the middle of the war. It was powered by the Rolls-Royce Merlin 45 and its derivatives. The Vc designation refers to the so-called universal wing, which allowed a choice between cannon and machine-gun armament as the unit required. Mk.Vc machines were deployed on a number of fronts, including the Mediterranean and the Pacific, and often carried a tropical filter under the forward fuselage.
The timing matters more when masking glazing than it may seem. The best moment to lift them comes shortly after the last coat of paint has flashed off but is not yet fully cured. At that point the paint has an edge that breaks away cleanly. If a mask stays on the model for several days, the layer hardens over the edge and a piece of the finish may lift with it. Lift the masks at a shallow angle, slowly and more or less parallel to the surface rather than straight up; pointed tweezers or the tip of a toothpick help.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
