Montex 1:32 Spitfire Mk.XVI is a set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks, not a model and not a kit. It is used to mask the canopy glazing on a Tamiya kit you already own.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an add-on masking set in 1:32 scale from the Polish manufacturer Montex. The package holds no modeling parts and no plastic castings, only self-adhesive masks cut to the shape of the glazing of the particular kit named in the product name. That is precisely why the set is tied to one specific model: the outline of the canopy and the width of the frames differ between manufacturers, and a mask from another set would not fit.
The Spitfire Mk.XVI was one of the late versions of the British Supermarine Spitfire fighter. In airframe it corresponded to the Mk.IX and differed in the powerplant: a Merlin engine built under license in the United States. Most aircraft had a cut-down fuselage spine with a teardrop canopy, and shortened wingtips for better handling at low altitude were also common. The aircraft stayed in service into the postwar years.
Laying strips of tape on curved frames by hand is slow and the result tends to be irregular. A cut mask, by contrast, holds the shape set by the frame, so the edge of the spray is crisp and all the frames come out the same width. Work in this order: degrease the glazing first, lift the mask off the sheet with tweezers, lay it down and press it all the way round with a wooden toothpick. Spray the interior shade first so that the frames look right from inside too, and only then the outer camouflage. Lay the paint on in several thin coats.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
