This is a sheet of decals imitating wood grain, not a kit. The decals are transparent, so the final shade is governed by the color of the surface they are applied over. The no-grid version means a clean wood grain with no suggested rib lines. The structure of the wood matches 1:32 scale. The maker is the Czech firm HGW.

Use

• Imitating light wood on the surfaces of a model, for example on fuselage panels, decks, propellers or the interior items of historic airplanes.
• Because the decals are transparent, lay down a base color first; you fine-tune the shade by your choice of undercoat (white, cream, yellow).
• Cut the panel out with a small margin and apply it like an ordinary decal, with setter and softener.
• Once it has dried, trim the overhanging edge with a very sharp knife.

For modelers who want a realistic wood structure without the labor of painting the grain by hand, above all on airplanes of the era when wood was in wide use. The work calls for care and suits more experienced builders.
