This cast resin accessory in 1:32 scale adds a pair of pylons mounted under the rear part of the fuselage to a model. In a large scale every simplified shape tells on parts like these, so a resin casting with sharp edges and readable structure is worth it — even though the part is fairly small. Aerobonus is a brand of accessories and figures from the circle of the Czech manufacturer Aires. It is not an aircraft kit but a detail meant to be added to a model already bought.
The MiG-23BN and the MiG-27 were combat aircraft with a variable-geometry wing, derived from the MiG-23 fighter series and adapted for attacks on ground targets. They differed from the fighter versions above all in a reworked forward fuselage and in equipment for operating at low altitudes. Machines of this family served in many countries and carried their armament on fuselage as well as wing pylons, and the pylons under the rear part of the fuselage are among the features that differ between individual versions and modifications.
Wash the parts in soapy water, cut the casting blocks off with a thin saw and level the seating face on sandpaper laid on a flat surface. Mark the position in pencil according to the instructions and dry-fit several times before gluing — with a pair of parts, symmetry matters most, because any asymmetry shows at once on the finished model. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). They are painted together with the fuselage; once finished, it is enough to bring out the gaps with a dark wash that flows in and to suggest light wear on the edges.
This is an accessory for modelers, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unpainted; paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
