Responsibility details are not available.
A resin set from the Czech manufacturer CMK that adds the Bristol Centaurus engine to a model of the Hawker Tempest Mk.II in 1:32 scale. According to the manufacturer it is the version that captures the left-hand side of the powerplant, that is the variant meant for a model with the cowling opened on one side. The set is cut for the Special Hobby kit.
The Bristol Centaurus was the peak of the British line of sleeve-valve radial engines. It was an eighteen-cylinder unit arranged in two rows one behind the other, which in its most powerful form passed the mark of three thousand horsepower. It is exactly what gave the Tempest Mk.II a different character from its sibling powered by the Napier Sabre: the radial engine gave the aircraft a wider nose and a characteristic sound.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the surfaces. Paint the engine in parts before assembly, because once it is glued together you can no longer reach the rear row. Blacken the cylinders, pick the fins out with a metallic shade on a dry brush and set the plumbing apart. Finally work in a dark wash, which gives the radial depth. Sand the resin wet and protect your airways.
The set is an accessory for a kit and does not replace the kit. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
