This is a resin airfield accessory, not an airplane model. The set represents a universal navy wheel chock with a nylon rope representing the release cord, in the late production form. The chock is placed under an aircraft wheel to keep the aircraft from moving on its own on the apron or on deck. The accessory is intended for dioramas and models in 1:32 scale.
Wheel chocks are part of the basic airfield ground equipment. They are placed in front of and behind the landing gear wheels and hold a parked aircraft in place. The universal navy type with a rope was used with US Navy aircraft. The early and late versions differed in form, which is why the manufacturer offers both. On a diorama they complete the setting of an apron or a carrier deck.
Wash the parts to remove any release residue, separate them from the casting blocks and clean them up. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The nylon rope can be shaped to suit the base. The chocks come out well when painted with edge highlights and a light patina.
This is an accessory, not a stand-alone aircraft kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
