A resin accessory for a diorama, not an airplane model. This resin set from the Czech brand Aerobonus (Aires) in 1:32 scale represents a wheeled USAF airfield oil bowser with a capacity of 150 gallons. Besides the resin parts it also contains small photo-etched parts. It serves to complete an airfield scene and the service background around an aircraft model; it is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Wheeled oil and fuel bowsers were standard equipment at military airfields. This type was used when servicing engines, for handling operating fluids. In a diorama it rounds out the ground equipment and, together with mechanic figures, brings a maintenance or pre-flight scene to life. It is a stand-alone accessory, not a part of any particular aircraft kit.
Wash the resin parts to remove mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bend the photo-etched parts over an edge and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate), the same as the resin. Apply primer before painting; an airbrush works well for the base shade, followed by a wash and pigments for realistic staining from operating fluids and dust.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted in resin. Glue, paints and the aircraft model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
