A set of two fixed aircraft Vickers machine guns with an extended loading (cocking) handle in the French version, in 1:32 scale from the Greek manufacturer GasPatch Models. The parts are cast in fine light gray resin with convincing detail on the body of the weapon and the cooling jacket. It is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory for the fixed forward armament of large models of First World War fighters. The set is for experienced modelers.
The Vickers was a British aircraft machine gun of .303 caliber with a fabric belt, used as fixed, forward-firing, synchronized armament on fighters. In French service it was fitted with an extended loading handle so that the pilot could reach it in the cockpits of the day. It is exactly this variant that the set reproduces in the larger 1:32 scale.
Wash the parts free of mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and clean up the surfaces with respiratory protection. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer before painting; the body of the weapon looks good in a dark steel color with restrained weathering and a hint of worn metal.
This is an accessory resin set, not an aircraft model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the aircraft are not included in the package.
