Responsibility details are not available.
A turned metal barrel in 1:35 scale for a gun of one hundred and twenty-five millimeters caliber designated 2A46M-4. According to the maker's data it suits models of the T-80U, T-80UM and T-80UD tanks and the Ukrainian T-84. This is not a kit but a replacement for a plastic part. The long smoothbore barrel with its thermal sleeve is the most conspicuous element on a modern tank, and the plastic part tends to be bent and to have a blind muzzle.
The T-80 was a Soviet main battle tank, the first production tank of its category to receive a gas turbine instead of a conventional engine. The T-80UD version went back to a diesel engine, and out of it grew the Ukrainian T-84, because after the break-up of the Soviet Union production stayed in Kharkiv. The gun of one hundred and twenty-five millimeters caliber with an autoloader is common to this whole family of vehicles.
Cut the plastic barrel off as close to the turret as possible and drill the mating surface so that the pin of the metal barrel seats firmly but does not pass right through. Degrease the metal with alcohol and apply primer, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. It is glued with super glue, that is with cyanoacrylate, drop by drop. Fit the barrel only at the end of the build, so that it does not bend during handling, and check its axis by looking from the front while the glue sets.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
