Turned barrel for the T-90 in 1:35 scale from Aber: a metal replacement for the 125 mm barrel. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A turned metal barrel in 1:35 scale for a model of the Russian T-90 tank and its T-90A version, that is, for the 125 mm gun designated 2A46M-5. It is not a kit but a replacement for the plastic part. The long smooth barrel with its thermal sleeve is the most visible part of a modern tank, and the plastic part tends to be bent, with a blind muzzle and a trace of the parting line.
The T-90 is a Russian main battle tank that followed on from the T-72 family and inherited its low silhouette and its autoloader. The 125 mm smoothbore gun fires sub-caliber, fragmentation and guided rounds and is common to the whole family of Soviet and Russian tanks of this generation. The 2A46M-5 version brought greater accuracy and better barrel stability when firing.
Cut the plastic barrel off as close to the turret as possible and drill the seating so that the pin of the metal barrel sits firmly without passing right through. Degrease the metal with alcohol and apply a primer, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. It is bonded with super glue, that is, cyanoacrylate, applied drop by drop. Fit the barrel at the very end of the build so that it is not bent during handling, and check its axis by eye from the front while the glue sets.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
