This kit from Trumpeter represents a standard 40-foot (roughly twelve-meter) ISO shipping container in 1:35 scale. It is not a vehicle but a diorama accessory that will complete a harbor, a transhipment yard, a military base or a civilian scene. The model is of injection-molded plastic and includes decals with the markings.
The forty-foot ISO container is a transport unit used worldwide in sea, road and rail transport. In military use it serves for supply, as a store, a workshop and an improvised shelter. Thanks to its corrugated sides and the typical doors with their locking bars it is easy to recognize.
The corrugated surface is rewarding for washes and drybrushing, which will bring out the texture. Rust streaks, chipped paint and layered markings will give the container a convincingly well-worn look. On some variants the doors can be built open and filled with cargo.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
