An accessory ammunition set in 1:35 scale: the 7.5 cm Nebelgranatpatrone smoke round for the Kw.K.40 and Stu.K.40 guns with the L/43 as well as the L/48 barrel.
Responsibility details are not available.
The subject is a fixed round of 7.5 cm caliber for the Kw.K.40 gun and for the Stu.K.40 in assault guns, in both barrel lengths, L/43 as well as L/48. Those numbers give the length of the barrel in multiples of the caliber, not the caliber itself. The Kw.K.40 was carried by Panzer IV medium tanks from the F2 version, and the Stu.K.40 by the StuG III and StuG IV assault guns.
The Nebelgranatpatrone was smoke ammunition. It was not aimed at destroying a target but at a screen: covering one's own move, making it harder for the enemy to take aim, or marking a place in the terrain. Only a few such rounds were usually carried in the load, so on a model with an open interior they look natural as a minority among the other types of ammunition. It is precisely such small disproportions that make stowed ammunition credible.
Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest off so that the shape of the base of the case and the edge of the mouth are preserved. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. On German ammunition the color coding of projectiles differed according to the type of filling and the period, so work from a period photograph or from the manufacturer's instructions; those are also a guide to the choice of glue, because that depends on the material of the parts.
It will be appreciated by builders of interiors and dioramas who want stowed ammunition not to look uniform but to show the mix a crew really drove with. It serves equally well as a small item thrown down by a vehicle or passed through a hatch. Paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
