A turned metal barrel for the short 7.5 cm L/24 gun for a model of the German assault gun StuG III of the zero (pre-production) series in 1:35 scale. The machined metal part replaces the plastic barrel of the kit — it offers a perfectly circular cross-section, a straight profile and a cleanly made muzzle with no traces of the mold split.
The StuG III arose in the 1930s as an assault gun for the direct support of infantry: a low turretless hull on the chassis of the Panzer III tank carried a short gun of 7.5 cm with a barrel 24 calibers long. The zero series from the end of the 1930s was a pre-production trial group of machines built from unhardened steel; it did not see combat and served above all for tests and crew training. It is precisely on these early machines that the short barrel is a prominent recognition feature.
Degrease the barrel before gluing and attach it with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Lay on a primer suitable for metal surfaces before painting; when weathering, tie the barrel in with the gun mantlet using a light filter so that the part swap shows on the finished model only in quality.
The accessory is made for a kit — the base model is not included in the package.
