Self-adhesive masks cut to the shape of the road wheels. This is not a kit or a set of extra parts — the set merely marks out the area of the rubber tire band while spraying and separates it from the rim. The cut matches the wheels from the kit of the 155 mm self-propelled howitzer on the AMX-30 chassis by Meng.
If the model is to end up in a scene, the priorities change. Wheels sunk into the terrain or covered in mud need not be taken to perfection — what matters is the upper half of the running gear, because that is what stays visible. Even so it pays to spray every wheel the same way: once the model is settled on its base it usually turns out that more is visible than expected, and finishing a wheel among completed tracks is unpleasant. The practical routine is therefore to finish the wheels as a batch over the masks and only then decide which of them will get more mud during the weathering. A sharp rubber-to-rim border also serves in a diorama as a foothold for washes — the color catches in it and the transition looks natural.
The package contains masks only. The kit, paints and thinners are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
