This is a photo-etched metal detail set from the Polish manufacturer Aber in 1:35 scale, not a vehicle model. The add-on set (vol. 4) concentrates on the rear doors and vision ports of the Sd.Kfz. 251/1 half-track carrier in the Ausf. D version. It follows on from the basic set and further refines the details of the rear and of the observation features.
The Sd.Kfz. 251 was a German medium half-track armored personnel carrier of the Second World War, intended to carry infantry. The Ausf. D version had a characteristic sloped rear with a pair of doors for the crew to get in and out. The vision ports let the crew observe their surroundings from the protected compartment.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife and bend them on a bending tool or along a ruler. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); degrease the metal and spray it with a coat of primer before painting. Pick out the doors and the vision ports with a fine wash.
This is a detail accessory, not a vehicle model. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
