A billboard with an ice cream advertisement in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer MAiM: a freestanding advertising sign that brings an urban or suburban diorama to life at once.
Responsibility details are not available.
An advertising sign with an ice cream motif, which the manufacturer's name also gives in German as Werbeschild, in 1:35 scale from the MAiM brand. It is not a kit of a vehicle but a diorama accessory, a freestanding billboard of the kind you meet in front of a kiosk, a cake shop or on a street corner. It is exactly such civilian small things that turn a scene into a believable slice of the world, because the viewer has something to hold on to and the story of the base works even without a single figure.
An ice cream advertisement suits modern and slightly retro urban scenes, by a bus stop, on a square, in front of a shop or beside a street stall. It works superbly as an element of contrast beside military vehicles among urban buildings, but it will serve just as well in a purely civilian vignette with figures in 1:35 scale. The sign can be stood up straight, or tilted and scuffed slightly to shift the meaning of the scene from a quiet summer day to a deserted street.
Before painting, wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water, clean up any marks left by casting and give it a coat of primer. Paint the basic areas with acrylic, and a fine dry brush and a hint of rust or chipping suit the post and the edges. You add the dust of the pavement with thinned pigment at the foot of the stand, and the billboard then settles into the scene as if it had stood there for years.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and may need a little cleaning up. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
