A model of the British Vickers heavy machine gun in 1:35 scale from ICM. Suitable for a diorama and for adding to a vehicle model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Vickers was a British .303 caliber heavy machine gun, introduced before the First World War, which then stayed in service in the British army for decades. Its hallmark was the cylindrical cooling jacket around the barrel: water cooled the barrel, the steam went off through a hose into a separate condenser and the crew could use it again. The weapon was fired from a tripod, the ammunition was fed in a long fabric belt, and it became famous for its reliability in long continuous fire.
This is a model of the Vickers machine gun in 1:35 scale from ICM. It will serve in a scene with a crew, beside a vehicle model and as a small object of its own on a base. The exact extent of the set is described by the manufacturer on the packaging.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down; when gluing, follow the manufacturer's instructions. Fit small parts such as the hose or the fed belt at the very end so that they are not broken off during handling. Paint thinly so that the fine surface of the cooling jacket does not disappear under a layer of paint. The metal surfaces will benefit from dry-brushing, which lifts the edges, and the fabric belt looks natural in a muted shade.
A model of the weapon is supplied. Paints, glue and a base are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
