Aber 1:35 photo-etched detail set - fenders for the Sd.Kfz.184 Ferdinand and Elefant is a photo-etched metal accessory that replaces the fenders of the heavy tank destroyer.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a photo-etched metal detail set, not a kit for the whole vehicle. The set replaces the plastic fenders with thin metal parts of true profile and adds their metal fittings and brackets. It can be used on both versions of the heavy tank destroyer, the Ferdinand and the later Elefant, and serves as an add-on for a model in 1:35 scale.
The Ferdinand and its rebuilt version the Elefant were German heavy tank destroyers of 1943 and 1944 on a Porsche chassis, armed with a long 88 mm anti-tank gun in a fixed casemate. These massive, thickly armored vehicles were first fielded at Kursk. Thin metal fenders, which bent and took damage easily, markedly improve the scale look of the model.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a glass surface and form the bends on a photo-etch bending tool. The fenders can be gently curved and given deformations for a more realistic effect. To bond metal to plastic, use cyanoacrylate or epoxy glue, and apply a metal primer before painting.
This is a detail set, not a vehicle model. The base kit, glue, paints and other parts are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
