A set of miniature above-ground fire hydrants in 1:35 scale from the production of Matho Models. A diorama prop, not a kit: a hydrant on a sidewalk is one of the most characteristic features of a city street, and its rich color works as a natural accent that draws the eye of the viewer exactly where you need it.
Hydrants belong on sidewalks, street corners and by the entrances to yards, in civilian street scenes and with military equipment among buildings alike. They work in historical and modern subjects, as above-ground hydrants have stood in cities since the end of the 19th century. A bright red or yellow hydrant beside the camouflage of military equipment creates an effective contrast of color; in an accident or fire service vignette it can be the center of the action straight away.
Spray the rich base color on, most often red, or yellow according to the country and the era. Bring the edges and the fittings out with drybrushing in a metallic shade and suggest chipping with a sponge and a dark color. A dark wash will settle the details of the caps and the nuts, and pigments at the foot will join the hydrant to the sidewalk. Apply rust sparingly, as a maintained city hydrant is no wreck. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
