1:35 Funeral wreaths with easels

Funeral wreaths with easels 1:35 (Plusmodel)

A set of scenic accessories in 1:35 scale from the Czech manufacturer Plusmodel. It holds funeral wreaths and easels, that is the tripod stands a wreath rests against. It is not a vehicle kit or a model of equipment but a diorama accessory with which a finished scene is completed.

Where the accessory comes into its own

Wreaths with easels suit memorial and commemorative scenes: at a monument, in a cemetery, at a fresh grave or at a memorial by a road. In a diorama they fill two roles at once. In substance they carry the action of the scene, and visually they add an accent of both color and shape to an otherwise monotonous area of terrain. They work well away from military subjects too, for example in a village scene with a church or in a city corner.

Building and painting tips

Separate the small parts with a sharp scalpel or cutting pliers, level the surfaces with a fine file and, before painting, wash the castings in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap, so that the mold release residue is removed. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue, as ordinary cement for plastic does not hold here. The foundation is a dark base, out of which the texture of the leaves and the ribbons is pulled with a dry brush. A wreath reads convincingly when the greenery is dark and the individual flowers are picked out only at points. A light gray or brown wash settles the colors into the hollows, and the easel then only needs bringing out with the patina of rust or peeling paint.
