1:35 German 20mm Flak38 Figure Set is a set of plastic figures of the crew of the German 20 mm antiaircraft gun Flak 38 from the maker Hobby Boss.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set of injection-molded plastic figures from the maker Hobby Boss is aimed at the crew of the German 20 mm antiaircraft gun Flak 38. It is neither a model of the weapon nor an accessory set of parts but figures that are added to a scene alongside a separately built model of the gun or of a vehicle. The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Flak 38 was a German 20 mm automatic gun meant for defense against low-flying targets, used both in the towed form on a two-wheeled trailer and mounted on the chassis of various vehicles. The crew was divided into several roles: a gunner working the sight and the triggers, a loader replacing the magazines, and further members seeing to the supply of ammunition and the watching of the airspace. Figures in the matching poses therefore explain to the scene how the weapon worked and give it the scale the gun alone lacks.
Before gluing, clean the parting seams up with a scalpel and fine sandpaper. Try the poses of the figures dry right beside the model of the gun, because the crew has to follow on naturally from the controls of the weapon. Paint the faces and the hands separately, with shadow in the recesses and light on the raised surfaces. Build the uniforms up from the base shade through the shadow to the lightening of the edges. Bring the straps, the buckles and the headphones out with a thin wash. Close the finished figures with a matte varnish, leaving only the leather elements slightly satin. On the boots and the lower parts of the trousers add dust with a pigment.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. A model of the gun, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
