An Aber photo-etched detail set - vol. 2, the add-on set with the armor shield for the German 88 mm PaK 43/41 gun in 1:35 scale extends the detail of a model of this gun.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a gun model but an add-on set of photo-etched brass parts from the Polish company Aber. The vol. 2 set is focused on the armor shield and the related parts for models of the German 88 mm PaK 43/41 anti-tank gun. It follows on from the basic set and adds fine metal features that plastic cannot reach.
The PaK 43/41 was a German anti-tank gun of 88 mm caliber with a long L/71 barrel, among the most effective anti-tank guns of the Second World War. Its simplified, improvised carriage earned it the nickname Scheunentor, meaning barn door. The protective shield covered the crew against shell splinters and light fire.
The shield parts are cut from the fret, cleaned up and bent evenly along the scored lines; a photo-etch bending tool helps. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the metal before painting and prime it with a primer for metal.
This is an accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
