Responsibility details are not available.
A figure of a German soldier with the rank of corporal, in winter dress and in 1:35 scale. It is not a vehicle model and not an equipment kit; it is a single figure that modelers use to complete finished models and dioramas. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
A winter scene is demanding for a figure painter precisely because it works with a narrow range of shades. Gray, gray-brown and dirty white areas easily merge into one grayish mass in which the shape disappears. The answer is not to raise the contrast but to spread the shades sideways: add a blue-gray or violet component to the shadows and a warm ocher to the highlights. Do not paint white areas in pure white, which looks like paper in scale; keep it only for the highest edges. Convey the difference between materials, that is between rough wool, smooth leather and metal, through the way light breaks rather than through a different color.
Wash the casting in lukewarm water with detergent, fill any bubbles and even the surface out with a thin primer. It can be painted with a brush or an airbrush, but with a figure it pays to choose one main direction of light and keep to it over the whole figure. Bring out the folds with a dark wash and pull the excess off, then go lightly over the edges with a dry brush. Deal with the snow and mud on the boots at the very end and follow on from them with the same materials on the base, so that the figure stands in the scene rather than looking placed beside it. Finally even the sheen out with a matte varnish, so that only some areas are not left shining.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, a base and accessories are not included in the package.
