An injection-molded plastic kit of the German towed 150 mm rocket launcher Nebelwerfer 41 from Great Wall Hobby. The model reproduces the six-barrel salvo launcher on a wheeled carriage. It is not an armored vehicle but an artillery weapon, which can be used to great effect in a diorama with a crew and a tractor. The box contains plastic parts complemented by photo-etch and metal components; check the exact contents on the box.
The 15 cm Nebelwerfer 41 was a German towed rocket launcher of the Second World War with six barrels arranged in a circle on an artillery carriage. It fired a salvo of 150mm rockets with a large area effect and a characteristic wailing sound, after which the Allies nicknamed it. The weapon was used for area preparatory fire and was feared for saturating a target area quickly. It was moved towed by a vehicle or by a horse team.
The small and photo-etched parts of the carriage call for careful work — glue them with cyanoacrylate and the plastic with liquid cement for plastic. Assemble the barrels and the wheels accurately for the sake of symmetry. A primer base and an airbrush are recommended; choose the color according to the period of service you have in mind. Liven the metal parts up with chipping and apply mud and dust pigments to the wheels and the lower parts. The weapon shows to advantage in a scene with crew figures.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
